Alexandra Taliani, a PhD student in musicology and a graduate teaching associate, is a native of Canton, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at Edinboro University, and her Master of Music in vocal performance/pedagogy and Master of Music in music history at Ohio University. Her research interests are women composers and vocal music. Her thesis at Ohio University was an annotated bibliography of the works of Eusebia Hunkins, a 20th century composer of Appalachian music.

Alexandra has performed extensively as a soprano, singing in operas such as Little Women and Die Zauberflöte as well as in several opera scenes at Ohio University. She sang at the Harrower Summer Opera Workshop (Atlanta, Georgia) in 2019, and participated in the Songe d’ete en musique/Midsummer Music Dream Festival (Quebec, Canada) in 2018. She was a member of the Erie Philharmonic Chorus (Erie, PA) and has sung with several church choirs as a section leader and soloist. Alexandra was named the Outstanding Music Department Senior at Edinboro University in 2016, and received the Graduate Achievement Award in Service at Ohio University in 2020.
