Graduate Programs in Music Education

Ohio State Oval

The graduate music education program at The Ohio State University School of Music is designed for experienced teachers who wish to go further, think more deeply and become leaders in the field of music education. Students holding a bachelor's degree in music are eligible to apply for the Master of Arts (MA) in music education, while those already holding both a bachelor's and a master's degree are eligible to apply to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program.

Students with an undergraduate music degree that is not in music education are encouraged to explore our individualized Post-Baccalaureate program, which leads to teacher licensure and the ability to become a school music teacher.
