String Day

Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026

11 a.m.–4:30 p.m. • Timashev Family Music Building

We invite high school string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass) throughout Ohio and neighboring regions to join us for an exciting day of performances, reading sessions, masterclasses, and collaboration with the Ohio State string students. You will have an opportunity to work one-on-one with our string faculty and side-by-side with current students.

Eligibility — For violin, viola, cello and double bass players in grades 9–12.

Fee — $40 (includes pizza lunch)

Registration deadline — Sunday, Sept. 20

Registration will open on Monday, Aug. 24.

11 a.m. — Check-in at the Timashev Family Music Building north lobby
11:30 a. m. –12 p. m. — Introductions and recital
12–12:30 p. m. — Q&A session with Ohio State string faculty
12:30–1:30 p.m. — Lunch break (pizza provided)
2–3:30 p.m. — Master classes for each instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass)
3:30 p.m. — Chamber music reading session with Ohio State string students
4:30 p. m. — Q&A with current string students
5 p. m. — Departure

Registration

Step 1 — Register and pay

Payment via credit card is required at the time of registration. Shortly after submitting payment, you will receive an email confirming the transaction.

Registration will open here on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026

Deadline: Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026

NOTE — The registration/payment forms work best on a computer (PC or Mac).
MAC USERS — use Chrome, not Safari.

Step 2 — Permission forms for minors

Several days after you register and pay, parents/guardians and participants will receive permission forms via DocuSign. All forms must be returned by Wednesday, Sept. 23, in order to participate.

Step 3 — Day-of Details

Approximately one week prior to String Day, all registered attendees will receive an email with instructions for arrival, parking, etc.
