The Timashev Family Music Building opened to students, faculty and the public in Autumn 2022. This state-of-the-art facility houses the entire Ohio State School of Music.

This new building is located in front of the original Weigel Hall which remains part of the building, to the east side of the Timashev, though its exterior is no longer visible from College Road.

Weigel Hall

Weigel Hall was incorporated as part of the new Timashev Music Building. Its south façade remains visible, with an entrance just across from the Wexner Center for the Arts. 

The School of Music main and admissions offices are located in 110 Weigel Hall.

Office hours:

  • Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
    (Summer hours: 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.)
  • Saturday–Sunday: Closed
  • Closed on university holidays

The Ohio State University Music & Dance Library supports and fosters music and dance performance, teaching, learning and research by providing comprehensive digital and physical collections, together with a professional staff to facilitate their use.

The collections include more than 100,000 audio and video recordings; 150,000 books, scores and periodicals; and access to all major music and dance online resources including streaming media, e-books, digital scores and more. Most materials may be checked out by members of the Ohio State community, and beyond the university through the OhioLINK and WorldCat interlibrary loan systems.

The Library's resources and services reflect the breadth of The Ohio State University School of Music programs in classical, popular, jazz and traditional music from around the world.
