Masks must also now be worn outdoors in settings on campus, even when individuals can maintain appropriate physical distancing. Exceptions are made for those alone in their own residence-hall room and those dining, participating in strenuous exercise, or taking part in performance-based classes as long as physical distancing can be maintained.

The School of Music is under construction as part of the new Ohio State Arts District. Visit go.osu.edu/artsdistrict.

During this time, use of practice rooms in School of Music buildings is limited to music majors only.


Weigel Hall

Weigel Hall is under major construction through December 2021. All events have been moved to Hughes Hall. You can also enjoy performances by some of our student ensembles throughout the community. Visit music.osu.edu/events for a full schedule.

As of autumn 2020, the main offices in Weigel Hall are open. Access the building through the side door that faces the Wexner Center for the Arts.

As of autumn 2019, the School of Music Graduate Studies office is located at 108B Ohio Stadium.

Mershon Auditorium

Mershon Auditorium


The Mershon Auditorium at 1871 N. High St. houses the largest stage space on the Ohio State campus — a 2,400-seat auditorium.

A wing of the auditorium also houses music cognition, ethnomusicology, electronic composition, and graduate assistant suites.
