The Music & Dance Library serves the School of Music, Department of Dance and all members of the Ohio State community. Our team is ready to assist you with quick information, item needs and in-depth research questions. We encourage you to visit us, especially if you are new to campus!
 

Located on the second floor of the 18th Avenue Library, Music & Dance service desk hours are listed at Hours — Music & Dance Library.

Our open stacks of books, journals and music scores are always accessible; circulating items can be checked out at the first-floor service desk during general building hours: (which opens at 7:30 a.m. on Sundays and remains open until 11:59 p.m. on Fridays, then opening again 7:30 a.m.–11:59 p.m. on Saturdays).

  • Useful links to frequently needed resources, including OSU Libraries Search (the catalog of physical and digital materials that can be accessed online or borrowed from OSU Libraries and all colleges and universities in Ohio
  • Help pages for music and dance research needs
  • Direct access to a rich variety of databases for articles, streaming media, digital scores, and numerous online tools

Our course support services include e-books, streaming audio/video and other digital resource access. We’re happy to visit your course (in-person or online) and discuss the ways the library can support students’ projects, or just provide a general overview of library resources. We are also co-sponsors of the Lectures in Musicology series which invites conversation with experts across the discipline. You will find the current schedule of lectures at Musicology Events. Most are held in the Music & Dance Library, second floor, on Mondays at 4 p.m.
