Symphonic Band features works by guest composer Andrew Boysen, Jr.

Guest composer Andrew Boysen, Jr. will be in attendance for this concert that features the final movement of his Eighth Symphony. Based on text of British poet Wilfred Owen and scored for symphonic band and SATB chorus, this performance will also feature the Men’s and Women’s Glee Clubs. Sea Songs, Ralph Vaughan Williams; Chorale and Alleluia, Howard Hanson; Nocturne, Op. 9, No. 2, Alexander Scriabin/ed. Reed; George Washington Bridge, William Schuman. The ensemble performs Boysen's Poor Wayfaring Stranger, and will be joined by the Glee Clubs in “To Break Earth’s Sleep” from Symphony No. 8.

Scott A. Jones, conductor; Jeff Krubsack, guest conductor (Scriabin) and Jennifer Olis, guest conductor (Schuman) are master's conducting associates. Robert J. Ward, MGC conductor; Kristina MacMullen, WGC conductor.
