Su Xin (pronounced SOO TSEEN; Su is her last name) is a doctoral candidate in Choral Conducting; she is the teaching assistant in the Fundamental Choral Conducting course. Xin enjoys sharing her passion, energy and love with other musicians; she is extremely passionate with ensembles of varied forces for the capabilities of the artistic expression and profound meaning that ensemble music could possibly possess.

Xin is the current Artistic Director of Clintonville Community Choir. She is also the founder and leader of a cappella group Ohio Afternoon, where she also serves as a composer, arranger and producer. In the 2018 season, she has conducted the Chinese Folk Music Orchestra at Ohio State. During her studies at Ohio State, Xin has worked with Chorale, Women’s Glee Club, Men’s Glee Club and University Chorus. Before coming to the United States, she was the assistant conductor in University Choir at Beijing Normal University in China. Xin’s conducting mentors are Robert Bode, Robert Ward and Kristina Caswell MacMullen. Xin received a Master of Music degree in conducting from Ohio State, a Master of Arts in Music and Dance (Musicology), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography (Rural and Urban Planning & Resource Management) from Beijing Normal University.
