Acclaimed soprano Laura Portune has performed over sixty operatic roles and concert works internationally and regionally, including three world premieres and two recordings. She has performed with the San Diego Opera, Dayton Opera, Indianapolis Opera, Lyric Opera San Diego, Des Moines Metro Opera, North Czech Philharmonic, Greek Orchestra (Athens), Dayton Philharmonic, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Columbus Symphony, South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Rogue Valley Symphony, Newark-Granville Symphony and the Heisey Wind Ensemble. A finalist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Awards and for Lyric Opera Chicago's prestigious Ryan Opera Center, Dr. Portune served as an apprentice in Austria, Italy, New York, San Diego and Iowa. Garnering success as a stage director, Dr. Portune has directed for Nightingale Opera, Southern Illinois Music Festival, Columbus Children's Theatre, Youth Sing Praise (St. Louis), Ohio Wesleyan and the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Portune currently teaches at both Otterbein University and The Ohio State University.
