Katherine Borst Jones on tour

Katherine Borst Jones, professor of flute, will be performing at the National Flute Association's 40th ("Ruby") convention in Las Vegas from August 9-12.  She will present pieces by Debussy, Hovhaness, Ibert and Scott on various concerts, including performing with the Ruby All-Stars in the opening gala concert on Thursday.  She will also lead a panel discussion about auditioning for college, conduct a piece for nine piccolos, and lead a flute choir reading session.  Jones is an NFA Past President and the 2011 winner of the NFA National Service Award. 

Prof. Jones will also perform at the British Flute Society's Biannual convention at the Royal Northern Conservatory in Manchester, England on August 19.  She will present Poem and KBJ Variations, pieces written for her by Michael Ruszczynski (pictured).  The composer will be at the piano.
