
The second of two separate concerts, featuring performances by School of Music faculty artists and student ensembles highlighting the music of internationally recognized composer and Ohio State alumnus Stephen Montague. With guest quartet, The High Street Four.
Concert Two - The Music of Stephen Montague, Thursday, November 14 features three major works by the composer: Intrada, 1631 (2003); String Quartet No. 1: in memoriam Barry Anderson & Tomasz Sikorski (1989-93), and Dark Sun, August, 1945 (1995). Guest quartet, The High Street Four: David Niwa, violin; Ariane Sletner-Biava, violin; Kenichiro Matsuda, viola; Luis Biava, cello. Ohio State ensembles and conductors include the Wind Symphony (Russel C. Mikkelson), Symphony Orchestra (Marshall Haddock), Chorale (Robert J. Ward), and Symphonic Choir (Kristina Caswell MacMullen).
Ticket Prices for November 14 Concert
- $20 - general admission
- $10 Concert Card holders, senior citizens, Alumni Association members, non-OSU students and children
- FREE to all Concert Card holders and to Ohio State students, faculty and staff (1 ticket per BuckID presented in person; subject to availability).
Advance tickets may be purchased from the Ohio State Theatre Box Office. Visit the box office at the Drake Performance and Event Center, 1849 Cannon Drive (2nd floor, off the lobby), or call (614) 292-2295, Monday-Friday, 10 am–4 pm. All major credit cards accepted.
Tickets will also be available at the door, one hour prior to the performance (Weigel box office accepts cash or check only).
The festival continues with a Montague World Premiere performed by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Friday-Saturday, November 15-16 at the Ohio Theatre. Invictus was commissioned by The Ohio State University and the Johnstone Fund for New Music at the Columbus Foundation.
