Selections performed will reflect many facets of American repertoire over its nearly 100-year history. The Jazz Ensemble will play the music of John Clayton, featuring two of the jazz faculty on this portion of the concert — Milton V. Ruffin, bass and Robert Brooks, saxophone. Shawn Wallace, director. Jazz Lab's program celebrates the music of Dizzy Gillespie including "Groovin' High," "A Night in Tunisia" and more, as well as "Manteca" by Chano Pozo, in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
