
Prolific American musician and Grammy Award winning jazz clarinetist Eddie Daniels appears in association with the weekend festival Clarinet Spectacular*: Jazz Meets the Classics. Join Daniels, Ohio State clarinet professor Caroline Hartig, the OSU Clarinet Studio Ensemble, and the Ohio State Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Ted McDaniel.
Dr. Hartig and Eddie Daniels will perform Amilcare Ponchielli's duo for two clarinets, Il Convegno Divertimento, with pianist Anna Vinnitsky. The jazz portion of the program will include Moment's Notice, John Coltrane; A Concerto In Swing, Patrick Williams; Thad Said No and Under The Wire, Gordon Goodwin; Quietude and Mornin' Reverend, Thad Jones; I Fall In Love Too Easily, Jule Styne/Sammy Cahn, arranged by Paul Ferguson for Daniels. The OSU Clarinet Studio Ensemble will join Daniels in Harold Arlen's Somewhere Over the Rainbow, arranged by Evan Lynch, who is pursuing a DMA in clarinet and is currently an associate conductor for the OSU Marching Band.
