Paul Sanders, professor of music education at the Newark campus, holds graduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma (MM in Choral Conducting and PhD in Music Education). He taught elementary general music in Oklahoma City and Norman, Oklahoma, and served on the faculty at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wisconsin before joining the faculty at Ohio State Newark in 1992.
Sanders serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Historical Research in Music Education (JHRME). His recent articles on historical topics in music education appear in Contributions to Music Education and JHRME. Sanders is compiler/editor of Lyrics and Borrowed Tunes of the American Temperance Movement (University of Missouri Press, 2006), and has composed or edited several pedagogical works with Masterworks Press (Olympia, Washington) including 200 Progressive Pentatonic Exercises, 175 Progressive Diatonic Exercises, and the American Folk Song Sight-Singing Series.
