Student benefits from music double major option and library resources

“I chose Ohio State because it is affordable and has a lot of great programs.”

Heidi Bowles, a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in music (oboe), and philosophy, politics and economics, shares: “I had an idea of what I wanted to do with my life, but I wasn’t sure, so I wanted to go to a school where I could change my mind and still get a good education without needing to transfer schools. I chose majors that would help me prepare for law school and give me the chance to take a variety of classes that I would enjoy.”  
 
Visiting and learning how to use the Music & Dance Library opened doors for Bowles. “It’s okay if you don’t know how to use the library. As a first-year student I was embarrassed to admit that I didn’t really know how a research library worked and how to access the resources they offer,” she said. “The librarians are so helpful and knowledgeable, and in my experience they’re always willing to help if you ask. It is worth taking the time to learn how to use the library; it saves so much time, effort and money.”
