Professors Nicola Bulfone, clarinet and Andrea Rucli, piano, Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini of Udine, Italy, are visiting Ohio State as guests of Clarinet Spectacular. The duo will perform works by Ella Adaiewsky, Ernesto Cavallini, Robert Schumann, Nino Rota and Ferruccio Busoni. This recital is free and open to the public. No ticket required. Nicola Bulfone plays Herbert Wurlitzer Reform Boehm Clarinets. Paola Barzan, musician and ethnomusicologist, conducted field research in Italy (on the tradition of liturgical and devotional singing in the Dolomites area and on Alpine carnivals) and abroad (on the music of the Italian American communities in Rhode Island, and on vocal and instrumental practices tradition of Iraqi Kurdistan). She has published essays and books on the oral tradition of liturgical chant in northern Italy and on folk Veneto music. She is also engaged in the fields of music education and visual ethnomusicology. From 2000 to 2022 she has been professor of Ethnomusicology at the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua. These events are free and open to the public. No ticket required. Paola Barzan

Paola Barzan, musician and ethnomusicologist, conducted field research in Italy (on the tradition of liturgical and devotional singing in the Dolomites area and on Alpine carnivals) and abroad (on the music of the Italian American communities in Rhode Island, and on vocal and instrumental practices tradition of Iraqi Kurdistan).
