2024-09-24 19:30:00 2024-09-24 21:00:00 Latin American Music Celebration Concert In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15–Oct. 15), the School of Music proudly presents a musical experience that highlights the cultures of Latin America. This annual concert will feature both classical and contemporary works by renowned Latinx composers including Sanjines, Cervantes, Ginastera, Ramón Noble, Carlinhos Brown, Manuel Ponce, guest artist Cecilia Zabala, Carrillo, Ney Rosauro, Idalba "babi" Leite de Oliveira, DiRivera, Yenque, and Tito Puente. Co-sponsored by The Center for Latin American Studies, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, OLÉ (Organization of Latin American Employees) and the School of Music.Performers include a student string quintet (Nathan Jeoung and Sidd Figurov, violins; Brandon Waite, viola; Owen Summers, cello; Owen Lutz, bass); Colin Fogerty and Sean Bauman, saxophone; Manuel Vizurraga, piano; University Chorus, Colin Knoth, conductor; Latin Jazz Combo, Kris Keith, director; Andrii Isakov, violin, with Casey C. Cook, piano; Cecilia Zabala, guest guitarist; Flute Troupe, Katherine Borst Jones, director; Percussion Ensemble, Susan Powell, director, with guest percussionist Ana Barros; Adelaide Kawakami, voice, with Nancy Nehring, piano; Kaleidoscopic Winds (Sofia Geelhood, flute; Laura Pitner, oboe; Mason Williams, clarinet; Lucas Swiderski, bassoon; Olivia Boden, horn); guitar duo, Karl Wohlwend and Cecilia Zabala; Cheng Peng, horn; and The Ohio State University Jazz Ensemble, Mike Smith, conductor.This event is free and open to the public. Getting Here

Park in the Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7), walk north along College Rd. to enter the south doors of the Timashev Music Building.
