No paper programs will be distributed.Join us for more musical events celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month. A singer of Kechwa origin born into the bosom of a peasant family in the Andes of southern Peru, Consuelo Jerí learned the traditional songs of her people from her father, who in turn cultivated the musical tradition she inherited from her ancestors.Her voice has a beauty capable of transmitting the feeling of the peasant soul of the Kechwa people, becoming tender to reveal the poetic quality of the love repertoire, or the songs of agricultural life that she has carefully selected from among the thousands of songs that make up the popular tradition, and her singing has travelled to various stages in Europe and Latin America for more than a decade.One of her first appearances on the music scene was in the documentary Kachkaniraqmi, sigo siendo (2013) by Peruvian filmmaker Javier Corcuera; the film won dozens of awards, including the Goya Award in 2008.Consuelo Jerí was invited to the San Sebastian Film Festival and thus began a brilliant career with which she has toured theatres in Europe and Latin America, as well as ethnic and world music festivals, and sang in the recent production Epifanías by her compatriot, the prestigious singer Susana Baca, which was recently nominated for the North American Grammy 2024 in the category of Best Global Music Album.All events are subject to change.Getting HerePark in the Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7), walk north along College Rd. to enter the south doors of the Timashev Music Building.You may also park in Arps Garage (open to visitors M–F after 4 p.m. and on weekends) just north of the Timashev Music building.The Timashev Recital Hall is located on the ground floor, at the far north end of the building.Driving and Parking Instructions Timashev Recital Hall, 1900 College School of Music music@osu.edu America/New_York public

Park in the Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7), walk north along College Rd. to enter the south doors of the Timashev Music Building.
