Jazz Lab Ensemble "Hornucopia" (No ticket required)
The Ohio State University Jazz Lab Ensemble presents "Hornucopia" - an eclectic mix of selections from the big band sounds of the Benny Goodman Orchestra with Stompin' at the Savoy; a Duke Ellington ballad rarity I've Just Seen Her; Frank Mantooth's Latin jazz version of the standard Invitation; a hard-swingin' piece from the modern jazz library of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Groove Shop; Tadd Dameron's classic Good Bait; from the pen of Columbus native Herb Harrison Crunch McCann Blues; and from the library of Stan Kenton, a fast-tempo burner The Big Chase. Come join the Jazz Lab Ensemble under the direction of Kris Keith and celebrate the diversity of big band jazz.This concert is free and open to the public.
