
Two separate concerts, presented November 13 and 14, feature performances by School of Music faculty artists and student ensembles highlighting the music of internationally recognized composer and Ohio State alumnus Stephen Montague.
Concert One - Opening Concert on Wednesday, November 13 features works by guest composer Keith Dippre and by student and faculty composers in the Ohio State School of Music. String Quartet #1 (premiere performance), Quinton Jones; Songs of Shattering, Ramsey Sadaka; Sanjo for solo violin, EunSeok Park; Lengua - no Más, Keith Dippre; Ten Moments for Two Alto Saxophones, Thomas Wells; Festival of Lights, Jan Radzynski; Letter from Home, Donald Harris.
Special guest artists Lucy Shelton, soprano; Christine Mortine, soprano; Scott Marosek, piano; Keith Dippre, accordion/composition. Faculty, guest and alumni performers include the COSMOS Trio (Katherine Borst Jones, flute; Mary E. M. Harris, viola; and Jeanne Norton, harp); Kia-Hui Tan, violin; Juliet White-Smith, viola; Mark Rudoff, cello; Caroline Hartig, clarinet; Jiung Yoon, piano; Michael Torres and Casey Grev, saxophones. Jones, Sadaka, and Park are student composers; Wells and Radzynski, faculty. Students performing are Katelyn Gyuhyun Han, violin; Snow Shen, violin; Rachael Keplin, viola; Elisabeth Jeremica, cello; Yung-Wei Sun, soprano; Rachel Haug, flute; Kerry Haberkern, bassoon; and Eunhee Kim, piano.
Concert Two on Thursday, November 14 features the music of Stephen Montague performed by Ohio State instrumental and choral ensembles, with special guests The High Street Four. Read more.
Ticket Prices for November 13 Concert
- $20 - general admission
- $10 Concert Card holders, senior citizens, Alumni Association members, non-OSU students and children
- FREE to all Concert Card holders and to Ohio State students, faculty and staff (1 ticket per BuckID presented in person; subject to availability).
Advance tickets may be purchased from the Ohio State Theatre Box Office. Visit the box office at the Drake Performance and Event Center, 1849 Cannon Drive (2nd floor, off the lobby), or call (614) 292-2295, Monday-Friday, 10 am–4 pm. All major credit cards accepted.
Tickets will also be available at the door, one hour prior to the performance (Weigel box office accepts cash or check only).
The festival continues with a Montague World Premiere performed by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Friday-Saturday, November 15-16 at the Ohio Theatre. Invictus was commissioned by The Ohio State University and the Johnstone Fund for New Music at the Columbus Foundation.
