A John Cage Musicircus featuring The Ohio State University Percussion Ensemble, Susan Powell and Joseph Krygier, directors; with guests from the School of Music and the Department of Art first-year MFA students.
A musicircus is an overlapping musical collage or 'happening' presented in a live surround-sound environment, far removed from a traditional concert format.
The percussion ensemble will present an off-campus concert in conjunction with the Department of Art on Tuesday, November 12. The presentation will be a John Cage "Musicircus" - a concert of all John Cage pieces, presented in a collage style format.
The event will be held at the HamMer Art Studio (studio of art faculty Ann Hamilton and Michael Mercil), 1384 South 4th Street, Columbus. COTA bus information: take the # 2 High Street south toward downtown (ask for a transfer as you board). Get off at the exchange at High and Broad Streets. Transfer to the #16 bus. Get off at the 4th Street stop.
This concert is open to the public.
