Jazz master class with Byron Rooker

Jazz Studies welcomes alumni and guest jazz artists holding master classes this semester. All guest jazz artist visits are paid for in full or in part by the Jazz Arts Group Education and Community Engagement.

NOVEMBER 2

Byron Rooker, saxophone and woodwinds, will discuss his years of experience as a professional performing musician. Attendees will benefit from his advice on performing as a lead alto playing in a big band and as a woodwind doubler, a role he has played for several decades in the Columbus Jazz Orchestra. The University Jazz Ensemble with a focus on the saxophone section will perform several big band arrangements for Byron to discuss and demonstrate performance improvement methods. Meet Byron Rooker
