2012-09-10 16:30:00 2012-09-10 17:30:00 Glenn Gould's 80th birthday honored by Musicology Lecturer (Free) Arved Ashby, OSU School of Music professor, will open the Autumn Semester Musicology Lecture Series with a pair of short talks:Honoring Glenn Gould's 80th birthday: (1) Gould as "The Last Puritan;" and (2) Gould's Eccentricity in Context: A Pragmatist View of Musical Interpretation.Dr. Ashby states, "Glenn Gould, whose 80th birthday falls on September 25, has become a favorite topic for scholars, journalists, and filmmakers over the three decades since his death. But many Gould enigmas remain.
