Yiyi Suo began studying the violin at age five under the tutelage of renowned violinist and composer Xiongda Jiang. In 2014, she participated in the Baotou International Music Festival; in 2017 she was invited to perform at the Vienna International Music Festival with the Sun Orchestra, collaborating with world-famous violinist Luz Leskowitz at the Brahms Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. In 2019, she was admitted to the College of Music in Minzu University of China where she majored in violin performance and became concertmaster of the university’s youth symphony orchestra, additionally serving as a teaching assistant for advanced sight-singing courses. She received a professional scholarship for three consecutive years, and was granted direct admission to the graduate program in 2023. That same year, she won second place at the 8th Goodwin Art International Music Competition, and was admitted to The Ohio State University School of Music to pursue a master’s degree in violin performance with a full scholarship and a position as a violin graduate teaching associate.
