The Central Ohio Flute Association welcomes internationally acclaimed flutist Alberto Almarza — previous principal flute of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago (Chile) and currently associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University.
Almarza, with collaborative pianist Dianne Frazer, will give a solo recital (1 p.m.) open to all attendees, as well as a master class (3 p.m.) for the 2021 competition winners. The solo recital features selections by Franz Schubert, Astor Piazzola, Will Offermans and Martin Kennedy.
The festival also features a flute choir showcase, exhibitors, competition finals, lectures, clinics and more.
The event is FREE for Ohio State students and faculty.
