Wind Symphony with guest composer, John Mackey (No ticket required)

A two-day residency by guest composer John Mackey will culminate with the performance of Wine-Dark Sea: Symphony for Band, a stunning musical re-telling of Homer's Greek epic poem, Odyssey, and Mackey's largest work to date.

Caroline Hong is featured soloist in the world premiere performance of EunSeok Park's Concerto for Piano and Wind Symphony (2014). Park, who earned the DMA in composition at Ohio State in 2012, dedicated the concerto to Dr. Hong. Also on the program is Kevin Puts' Network, arranged by Ryan Kelly.

Russel C. Mikkelson, conductor; Scott A. Jones and Phillip Day, guest conductors. Mr. Day is currently pursuing the DMA in wind conducting at Ohio State.
