University Chorus and Mastersingers

The ensembles present a joint program with choral works from the 16th century to the present.  The Mastersingers, under the direction of Cynthia K. Braswell, will perform Fair Phyllis, John Farmer; Sensemaya, Sid Robinovitch; Requiem, Eliza Gilkyson; Geistliches Lied, Johannes Brahms and How Can I Keep from Singing? arranged by Gwyneth Walker.  Mrs. Braswell is pursuing a master of music in choral conducting.

The University Chorus, conducted by Matthew N. Russell, will perform two settings of Jubilate Deo by W. A. Mozart, based on psalm texts 100 and 65;   Richard Farrant's Call to Remembrance, based on psalm 25; Come Ready and See Me, Richard Hundley; and Ring Out, Wild Bells, James Q. Mulholland.  Kristen Kurivial, soprano, will be featured guest soloist in Stephen Paulus' Hymn to the Eternal Flame.  Mr. Russell is a doctoral student in choral conducting.

Pianists are Casey L. Cook for Mastersingers and Matthew Ebright for University Chorus.
