
Internationally renowned organist Michael Murray will give a recital of works by Bach, Widor and Dupré on the beautiful Casavant organ at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Columbus, 2151 Dorset Road, across from the Upper Arlington Library. Admission is free (free-will offering).
Murray was trained in Paris by Marcel Dupre. He began his career by performing the complete works of Bach in 12 recitals in Cleveland in 1968-69. He has performed as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, and many other orchestras; he has given recitals throughout Europe, the United States, and in Japan. His 30 recordings for Telarc are among the classical music industry's worldwide best-sellers. This June he will retire as organist at Saint Mark's, where he has played since 1983.
Murray was awarded an honorary DMA in 2001 by Ohio State. He teaches Music 6786, Music Research Methods and Bibliography.
