Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Fundraising Policies for School of Music Student Organizations

Policies and Permissions

Official School of Music Student Organizations wishing to hold a fundraiser must obtain prior permission.

An active student organization is one that represents School of Music interests and has a School of Music faculty advisor.

Goals

It is our intent to be completely supportive of fundraisers:

  • to ensure that all fundraisers will be free of unintended negative consequences
  • to provide school-wide oversight so that several fundraisers are not held at the same time
  • to ensure that our concert and event audiences encounter positive and appropriate fundraisers during their visit
  • to create an environment that rewards quality, preparation and planning

All fundraising events must follow the Fundraiser Guidelines established by Student Life.

No cooking is permitted in the building, per university policy and Fire Code.

Process

Step 1

All organizations must have a Space Use Agreement on file before they can hold a fundraiser or request to reserve a space.

Step 2

Complete and submit the following permission form.

Student Organization Fundraiser Request

Only official School of Music Student Organizations may hold fundraisers in the School of Music.
