Brooke Woods is a graduate teaching associate in conducting at The Ohio State University, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree. She assists with all university wind bands, including The Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL), Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Collegiate Winds, and University Band. She is a two-time alumna of Ohio University, holding a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Music degree.
Since 2019, Woods has served as the Executive Officer of the 100th Army Band, for which she conducts the Concert and Ceremonial Bands, and oversees all aspects of small ensembles. Under her direction, the 100th has performed across the United States and abroad, including tours in France, Hawaii, Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. The ensemble averages more than 50 performances annually, with members drawn from across the Midwest — many of whom have served together for over a decade.
Woods is a recipient of the Col. Finley R. Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award, and she won the 42C Army Band Officer audition in 2022.
An advocate for education, she previously served as program administrator for the Ohio Military Veteran Educator Program at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. In that capacity, she helped implement five initiatives from Ohio House Bill 33 of the 135th General Assembly, and managed the Ohio Troops to Teachers Program in partnership with the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, connecting service members, veterans, and their spouses with teaching opportunities across the state.
