Aiden Yi-Hung Jeng is a Taiwanese violist who brings expressive musicality and warmth to his performances. He is currently in his first year of the Doctor of Musical Arts program at The Ohio State University, where he studies with Professor Juliet White-Smith as a recipient of the highly prestigious University Fellowship.
Jeng earned his Master of Music degree from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University as a recipient of the Eckstein Scholarship and a Graduate Student Assistantship, and his Bachelor of Music degree from National Taiwan Normal University. At Northwestern, he was awarded the Northwestern University Viola Prize and served as principal viola of the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra. His primary teachers include Helen Callus, Kuan-Chen Huang, Shih-Hsun Pan and Weijing Michal of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Actively engaged with Chicago’s professional music scene, Jeng has performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra, appearing in both orchestral and chamber music settings throughout the region.
His summer engagements include appearances at renowned festivals such as the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival (as a Fellow), the National Repertory Orchestra, VivaViola Hsin-Yun Huang ViolaFest, and the France MusicAlp Festival, where he worked with world-class faculty and fellow artists from across the globe. In 2025–2026, Jeng will appear in the Joan and Daniel Rutenberg Chamber Music Series at the University of South Florida as a recipient of the Rutenberg Chamber Music Fellowship Award for Emerging Artists.
