The Ohio State Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab Big Band present their joint opening concert of the academic year. The University Jazz Ensemble performs the music of Duke Ellington, featuring faculty guest soloists Chris Anderson, trombone, John Douglas, trumpet; and Jaqui Liu (DMA student), clarinet. Jazz Lab Band will perform music by Tadd Dameron and Duke Ellington, as well as previewing their November concert, which will be a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Charles Mingus. Due to the Ohio State Homecoming Parade, there will be several street closures around the Timashev Music Building on Friday evening, including College Rd. Access either Arps Garage or the Ohio Union North or South Garages from HIGH STREET.

GETTING HERE
While the new building for Theatre, Film and Media Arts remains under construction, the North side of the Timashev Music Building remains closed.
Park in the Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7), walk North along College Rd. to enter the South doors of the Timashev Music Building.
Weigel Auditorium is located on the second floor at the far south end of the building. An open stairway located just inside the south doors leads to the hall.
- If an elevator is needed, walk through the Music Commons, behind the open stairway to the back hallway. Follow the hallway through the double doors to the elevator.
