Will Roesch, a second-year DMA student in tuba performance, is studying with Professor Jim Akins, and completing a K-12 education licensure. He serves as graduate teaching associate for the theory area, teaching first-year Music Theory and Aural Training. While at the University of Montana School of Music, he served as program coordinator (2020–2023), sabbatical replacement for Dr. Kevin Griggs, teaching marching band, concert band, and brass methods (2020–2021), and professor of tuba and euphonium (2017–2018).
Currently, Roesch maintains a private studio and an active performing schedule. He plays B-flat bass with the Brass Band of Columbus, and E-flat bass with the Central Ohio Brass band, for which he also serves as president of the board of directors. Roesch plays with the Central Ohio Symphony brass quintet, and is a substitute musician for many of the regional orchestras and ensembles in Columbus. Additionally, he is active as a composer and arranger, having recently had a commission premiered by the Butte Symphony in April 2025 as part of their 75th anniversary celebration. His arrangements and compositions can be found at Cimarron Music Press. Roesch’s primary teachers include Professors Jim Akins, Ben Kirby, and Tony Zilincik.
In his free time, Will Roesch is an avid Lego and Transformers collector, as well as a lover of all things Halloween.
