Paige Strasel is a third-year DMA student at The Ohio State University, studying voice performance under Prof. Helen Allen. Strasel earned her bachelor's degree in voice performance from Ohio University (2022), where she studied with Andrew Ryker and Debra Rentz. She earned her master's degree from the University of Louisville (2024) and studied under Katherine Donner. Strasel also attended the DIY Summer Program for Classical Singers (2020), where she learned from Cindy Sadler, Christine Goerke and Nicolas Clapton. Strasel has performed in various masterclasses with such notable instructors as Kelly Kuo, Christine Brewer, Eric Owens and Kathleen Kelly.

Strasel is an aspiring performer; she has participated in various competitions, most notably NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), where she received first place; the Wilson competition, where she was one of the winners; and the Huang Aria competition, where she won a monetary prize and the opportunity to perform with a full orchestra. She has performed in various operas and opera scenes programs throughout her college career, portraying roles in Ottolo Nocolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Gluck’s Iphigénie en Aulide, Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites, Mark Adamo’s Little Women, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Menotti’s The Medium, Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Verdi’s Falstaff, Cavalli’s La Calisto, Hugo Weisgall’s The Stronger, and Michael Ching’s Speed Dating Tonight. She most recently played a role in Adam Guettel’s musical The Light in the Piazza right here at Ohio State.

Paige Strasel currently serves as a graduate teaching assistant at Ohio State, does solo work, teaches private voice lessons, and holds a position at Musicologie where she teaches voice and piano.
