Ohio State University Opera Theatre presents a madcap hour of soap operas — literally! Thomas Pasatieri’s Signor Deluso and Douglas Moore’s Gallantry will be performed November 3–5, 2023 in the Recital Hall of the Timashev Family Music Building.
Signor Deluso tells the story of Deluso — a sincere, lovely gentleman who gets wrapped up in a misunderstanding that causes a near-divorce with his wife, mistaken identities nearly breaking up lovers, and the political overthrow of Paris!
Gallantry, our second act, is another soap opera revolving around the philandering Dr. Gregg, in love with his beautiful nurse Lola, and Lola’s lover Donald who is about to go under the knife on Dr. Gregg’s operating table. Will Donald live? Will Dr. Gregg behave? Will the audience be lured into buying expensive wax to shine their floors?
You will only find out if you come to Ohio State Opera Theatre’s double bill of soap operas on the first weekend of November.
Directed by Eric Gibson; musical direction and accompaniment by Ed Bak.
This event is free and open to the public.
All events are subject to change.
