Daniel Farr, a doctoral graduate teaching associate in Wind Conducting, grew up in Lakeland, FL and received his Bachelor of Music Education as well as his Master of Music Education degrees from the Florida State University. He studied conducting with Patrick Dunnigan, Richard Clary and Alex Jimenez, and clarinet with Deborah Bish. He is a clinician for the Marching Band Leadership Camp for the FSU Summer Music Camps and is co-founder of the Gulf Coast Drum Major Camp in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Ensembles under Farr's direction have consistently earned Superior ratings at Marching MPA, District and State Solo and Ensemble, as well as District and State Concert Music Performance Assessment. Farr taught for 10 years in the public schools of Florida. His bands have consistently earned Superior ratings at Music Performance Assessments, and earned the Otto J. Kraushaar award for Straight Superiors across all aspects of a program in a year four separate times. He has been actively sought after as a concert clinician and clarinet pedagogue. Daniel Farr’s professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, Phi Mui Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc., the Florida Bandmasters Association, the National Bandmasters Association, the Florida Music Educator’s Association, and NAfME: the National Association for Music Education.
