2024-11-22 19:30:00 2024-11-22 21:00:00 Wind Symphony: "The Blue Marble" with special guest artists, The Boston Brass This program features the internationally famous Boston Brass in collaboration with the Wind Symphony performing works by Gordon Goodwin and Bruce Edward Miller. In addition, the Wind Symphony will perform Julie Giroux’s Symphony No. 6, "The Blue Marble," a multimedia work for band and video. The composer writes, “it is often said that the first full image of Earth, 'Blue Marble', taken by Apollo 17 in 1972 was the first full picture of the planet Earth. It is the most reproduced picture in history. It became painstakingly clear to humanity, just how small and vulnerable our one and only home actually is.” The program is rounded out with works by composers Frank Ticheli and Percy Grainger.Russel C. An open stairway located just inside the south doors leads to the hall.If an elevator is needed, walk through the Music Commons, behind the open stairway to the back hallway. Getting Here

Park in the Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7), walk north along College Rd. to enter the south doors of the Timashev Music Building.
