Our 49th Jazz Festival concludes with a start-studded concert.
The Ohio State Jazz Ensemble performs Miles Ahead – Miles Davis and Gil Evans’ masterpiece, with guest soloists Anthony Stanco (assistant professor of jazz trumpet, Michigan State University) and alumnus Miles Franklin Smith (BM 2023, Jazz Studies; MM 2025, Jazz, Northern Illinois University), flugelhorn.
Special guest artist Tia Fuller is featured for the second half of the program.
- Fuller is also featured in the Friday night concert, with Ohio State jazz faculty and student combos.

About Tia Fuller
When Grammy-nominated Mack Avenue recording artist, composer, and bandleader Tia Fuller picks up her saxophone, something amazing happens. Blending technical brilliance, melodic creativity, and the performing precision drawn from both her academic and stage experience, Fuller is a force to be reckoned with in the worlds of jazz, pop, R&B, and more. Currently, Fuller balances the worlds of performance and education, fulfilling a demanding schedule as both a busy touring and recording artist and a full-time professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Getting Here
Two garage options:
Arps Garage (open to visitors M–F after 4 p.m. and on weekends) — located just north of the Timashev Music building.
Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7) — located just south of the Timashev Music building, next to the Ohio Union.
- A good choice for events in Weigel Auditorium, just inside the south end of the building, across from the Oval.
Weigel Auditorium is on the second floor, via a staircase in the south lobby.
- The elevator to Weigel Auditorium is in the back hallway, located behind the Music Commons.
Special Parking Notice for Saturday 11:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
Due to a 3 p.m. event in Mershon Auditorium, $20 Event Parking will be in place at Arps Garage and Ohio Union North Garage between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Payable via credit card (no cash) at entry. To avoid Event Parking fees park at:
- Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7) is located just south of the Timashev Music building, next to the Ohio Union. Walk north along College Rd. to enter the south doors of the building, across from the Oval.
