"Professor David Becker is one of the leading collegiate orchestra conductors and music directors in the country. Having appeared as an all-state orchestra and festival conductor in virtually every state in the country, Professor Becker is known for his strong musicianship, leadership and love for working with students. He has developed many university orchestra programs that serve as models across the country. We are fortunate to have had Professor Becker as a conducting teacher for the last 15 summers at the Ohio State University String Teacher Workshop. Now our Ohio State students will be able to experience his outstanding musicianship and mentorship throughout the academic year as well. We welcome David as he becomes a full-time Buckeye!"—Robert Gillespie, area head, music education; director, Ohio State String Teacher Workshop
