New Wind Symphony CD, "Network," set for March 1 release

"Network" CD cover

The Ohio State University Wind Symphony will release its latest international CD, Network, on the Naxos label on March 1, 2016. This recording features Steven Bryant’s virtuosic Concerto for Wind Ensemble (an Ohio State Wind Symphony commission), Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts’ Network with guest conductor Scott A. Jones, Benjamin Britten’s charming incidental music to The Sword in the Stone, and Gustav Mahler’s Um Mitternacht featuring mezzo-soprano Katherine Rohrer. Russel C. Mikkelson, conductor of the Wind Symphony and director of University Bands, states: "This CD represents the sixth release in the Ohio State Wind Symphony’s recording project and the fourth on the Naxos label. The same repertoire was performed at the 2015 College Band Directors National Association's national conference in Schermerhorn Hall in Nashville, Tennessee."

Network will be available from the band office or from any online retailer including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes and others. Digital downloads will also be available through the online retailers.
