The United States Naval Academy Band, formed in 1852 by order of the Secretary of the Navy, invites you to a performance by the USNA Band's Brass Ensemble. Known as “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest Band,” these elite musicians represent a legacy of excellence that has remained unbroken for over 170 years.

The USNA Band's Brass Ensemble is a leader in the contemporary music world, regularly giving world premieres of new works. Their world-class artistry has been showcased on the nation's most prestigious stages, including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and appearances at major state and national music conventions.

Beyond the concert hall, these performers are dedicated educators and mentors, frequently sharing their expertise through masterclasses and instructional clinics at local K-12 schools, colleges, and universities, inspiring the next generation of musicians across the country.

From historic ceremonies on the Yard of the United States Naval Academy to the national stage, the USNA Band continues to perform at the highest professional standard for the Navy, the Naval Academy, and the American people. Join us for a performance that honors our country’s heritage through the power of world-class brass music.

Directions and Parking

Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7) — located just south of the Timashev Music building, next to the Ohio Union. 

  • A good choice for events in Weigel Auditorium, just inside the south end of the building, across from the Oval.
  • The only choice for visitors M–F, before 4 p.m.

Weigel Auditorium is on the second floor, via a staircase in the south lobby.

  • The elevator to Weigel Auditorium is in the back hallway, located behind the Music Commons.
