Add to Calendar 2022-11-17 20:00:00 2022-11-17 21:30:00 Symphony Orchestra features new work by Catherine Likhuta The Symphony Orchestra performs the world premiere of Catherine Likhuta's From the Land of Tomorrow. Likhuta, a Ukrainian composer from Kyiv now living in Australia, will be in Columbus for a ten-day residency during which her work will also be featured by the Symphonic Band on Nov. 18 as well as by students and faculty on her Nov. 21 lecture-recital. The Symphony program includes the Prometheus Overture, Beethoven; "The Promise of Living" from The Tender Land, Aaron Copland; and Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Tchaikovsky. Miriam Burns, conductor; Jae Park and Colin Knoth, guest conductors; vocal soloists Katherine Rohrer, Laura Portune, C. GETTING HERE While the new building for Theatre, Film and Media Arts remains under construction, the North side of the Timashev Music Building remains closed.  Park in the Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7), walk North along College Rd. to enter the South doors of the Timashev Music Building. Weigel Auditorium is located on the second floor at the far south end of the building. An open stairway located just inside the south doors leads to the hall. If an elevator is needed, travel through the Music Commons at the south end of the building, to the hallway to the right of the restrooms.
