Piano Quintet in F Minor, Op. 34
Originally conceived as a string quintet for two violins, viola and two cellos, Johannes Brahms first revised this work as a two-piano sonata. Following further advice from his trusted colleagues Clara Schumann and Joseph Joachim, the work eventually found its way to becoming the composer's only piano quintet. Join Juliet White-Smith and Ohio State and guest colleagues in a performance of this beloved masterpiece. With Andrii Isakov, violin; Alicia Hui, violin; Julia Yang, cello; Li Wang, piano.
The program opens with Robert Schumann's Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47.
This concert is free and open to the public. No ticket required.
Livestream broadcast begins at 7:30 p.m.
