About the series
The Counterpoints Series was initiated in 2023 in an effort to explore and expand multi-disciplinary opportunities for School of Music students.
Each semester, School of Music students present a showcase concert in the Wexner Center galleries, with each concert curated to correspond with the exhibitions currently on display.
Performers are selected via a competitive submission process, where a rationale must be presented for how/why the musical selection(s) tie in with one of the current exhibitions.
Guidelines for submission
- The creativity regarding the connection to the exhibit, quality and clarity of proposal, and studio teacher reference (required for students) will all be considered when selecting performers.
- Proposals may also be centered on the exhibition as a whole, but applicants are encouraged to include as much specificity as possible with the connections being referenced.
- Currently enrolled students will receive a monetary honorarium, deposited into their Ohio State student account.
- Chamber groups may be paid one lump sum to a studio or organization. This is entirely based on the number of submissions, and total number of players involved.
- Proposals will be due by Monday, Nov. 2 by 5 p.m. No late submissions will be accepted.
