Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury
W. A. Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne
Join Ohio State University Opera Theatre in a madcap double bill — one from the mastermind of Mozart and the other from the most famous of British satirists, Sir William S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan.
Both stories surround a troubled couple either trying to find love or to dissolve it. Mozart's charming opera is transported to a modern-day coffee shop, and this "Trial" might look like something you see on daytime television!
Directed by Eric Gibson; musical direction and accompaniment by Ed Bak.
This event is free and open to the public.
Weekend performances
Saturday, Nov. 2 — 7:30 | Sunday, Nov. 3 — 3 p.m.
All events are subject to change.
Getting Here
An event in Mershon Auditorium coincides with the Friday evening, Nov. 1 opera presentation. To avoid the higher-priced event parking fees in Arps Garage and Ohio Union North Garage, we recommend Ohio Union South.
Park in the Ohio Union South Garage (open to visitors 24/7), walk north along College Rd. to enter the south doors of the Timashev Music Building.
Arps Garage (open to visitors M–F after 4 p.m. and on weekends), just north of the Timashev Music building, is closer, but will incur the event parking fee of $20 on this particular date.
- The Timashev Recital Hall is located on the ground floor, at the far north end of the building.
