By presenting three Acts from rarely heard modern American operas, The Ohio State University Opera & Lyric Theatre delves into such pointed and relevant issues as mental illness, alcohol abuse, sexual orientation and stages of grief. Based on well-known and previously established dramatic works, Argento, Bernstein and Previn have each created uniquely compelling and musically challenging pieces that are presented in a “Scenes Program” format.
