Honors Convocation Recital

Student solo and chamber performances by Ohio State School of Music students who are nominated by their instructors, spotlighting the "best of the best" undergraduate and graduate students in the school.

Performers of solo or duo selections include Lane Summerlin, marimba; Joshua Cook, baritone and Edward Bak, piano; Dylan Lloyd, clarinet; Wooju Lee, piano; Devin Gossett, horn and Jeanmarie Strawbridge, piano.

The Ohio State Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, directed by James Akins and featuring guest conductor, Bruce Henniss, will perform the Chorale from Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin. Members of ensemble are Cam Chandler, Jeff Krubsack, Andy Picard and Mason Lautzenheiser, euphoniums; Brandon Christie, Hayden Biedenharn, Duncan Titus, Bennett Deshotels, Doug DeTray, Mason Illig, Andrew Collins, Rachel Vaughan, Jonny Patton, Abbey Pryor and Ben Kates, tubas.

The program will conclude with a performance of "Je ne t'aime pas" from Marie Galante, with music and lyrics by Kurt Weill and Jacques Deval, performed by Emily Brand, soprano; Edward Bak, piano; Mark Rubinstein, accordion; Rich Wesner, bass.

Attendance is mandatory for all School of Music students. This recital is free and open to the public.
