Katelin is a PhD student in historical musicology and is pursuing a graduate minor in Nonprofit Studies. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in history at Eastern Michigan University. Her primary interests are in modern German music history and place-making through music. Her dissertation research examines how music activities in northern Germany actualize the European Union’s and Germany’s intercultural integration policies at a local level by creating a space for dialogue and exchange between Middle Eastern refugees and German citizens.
