Katelin received a Bachelor of Arts in music at Eastern Michigan University and is pursuing a PhD in historical musicology at The Ohio State University. Her research focuses on music and wartime politics in Germany and eastern Europe. Her previous research includes musicology in the Third Reich, the use and alteration of Mozart's music in the Third Reich, and an honors senior thesis entitled "Dmitri Shostakovich's Nationalism in Soviet Russia." Her current research focuses on the interaction between German classical music culture and Middle Eastern refugees.
