Coral Varian joined the School of Music faculty in autumn 2026 at Ohio State, where she currently teaches undergraduate courses in music theory and aural training. Varian received her MA in music theory (2026) and BME in music education (2024) from The Ohio State University. During her studies at Ohio State, Varian served as a graduate teaching associate in music theory and aural training, and completed a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching (2026). 

Varian is passionate about teaching and has received several awards for her work in the music classroom, including Outstanding Graduate Associate in Music Theory (2026) and Student Teacher of the Year in Instrumental Music (2024). She was also named the Presser Scholar at Ohio State in 2024. Her research interests center around the intersection of music theory pedagogy and performance practice. Coral Varian remains an active performer and enjoys playing her flute in the community.
