Shitong Sigler is pursuing a DMA degree in piano performance at The Ohio State University, where she studies with Dr. Caroline Hong. With a full graduate teaching associateship, Shitong has taught undergraduate class piano courses since 2014, as well as private lessons for secondary music students. She also maintains a private piano studio. In 2016, Shitong earned dual master's degrees in piano performance (MM) and piano pedagogy (MA) from Ohio State. Shitong is an active performer as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. Additionally, Shitong focuses on research in piano pedagogy. In 2016, Shitong co-presented with Dr. Kenneth Williams at the OMTA (Ohio Music Teachers Association) Conference. Shitong, who is from China, moved to Ohio in 2008 and studied at the College of Wooster, where she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both piano performance and business economics. She currently serves as secretary of the American Liszt Society Ohio Chapter.
