Daniel Gallagher is a second-year DMA student in flute performance at The Ohio State University, where he studies with Katherine Borst Jones. Gallagher earned a BA in music from Luther College in 2014 and an MM in flute performance from Illinois State University in 2016. His previous teachers include Melanie Mathew, Carol Hester, Lorie Scott, Bethany Padgett and Kimberly Risinger. His musical accomplishments include winning band and orchestra concerto competitions at Illinois State University, appearing as an alumnus recitalist at Luther College and performing professionally with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. In the summers of 2016 and 2017, Gallagher qualified as a quarterfinalist in the National Flute Association's Young Artist Competition and advanced as one of six semifinalists. In autumn 2017, he will perform and present a master class at Luther College.
